Spinning Tools
Although you really don’t need much to spin – arguably just a spindle (or even a stick) and some fiber, there are a wide variety of tools that will add some flexibility to your spinning and make it even more enjoyable.
If you want to prepare your own fibers from raw fleece, you’ll want some hand carders or combs, or maybe even a drum carder or electric carder if you often prepare large quantities of fiber. If you want to be able to easily create skeins from your yarn after spinning it, you’ll want a niddy noddy. And if you want to wind your yarn into balls, you’ll want a nostepinne or a ball winder and a yarn swift.

If you spin with a spinning wheel instead of a spindle, you will also want a lazy kate. A lazy kate holds several bobbins of fiber in place at once, which makes it much easier to ply your yarn.
