Nostepinnes
A nostepinne (also spelled nostepinde or nostepindle) is a simple tool that’s used for winding yarn into a center-pull ball. Although they are relatively easy to learn to use, it might take you a bit of practice before you’ll make a perfect ball of yarn with your nostepinde.

The advantage of a nostepinne over a hand-cranked ball winder is that it is easier to transport and is virtually unbreakable. Nostepindes are normally made out of wood, and are often quite beautiful!
