Yarn Swifts
A yarn swift or umbrella swift is a tool that’s used to hold a skein of yarn in place and under tension so that it can be wound into a ball. A yarn swift is typically used with a ball winder to help make center-pull balls of yarn quickly. Yarn swifts are typically made either or plastic or wood.
